Our Cause

Help babies receive life-changing care

Lauren, Creston and Ellie in field

MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation’s Heart Strings will raise funds to support MultiCare Deaconess Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Proceeds will expand access to care for the tiniest and most vulnerable members of our community with hopes of also elevating our care level designation.

With 47 beds, our NICU treats babies born prematurely or with serious health problems. The entire unit is focused on providing a supportive, low-stimulant atmosphere so infants can develop and thrive.

Our infants have access to a full range of pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists. These doctors have training and experience in how to care for small, often very sick babies.

The NICU at Deaconess Hospital is also home to the only Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome Unit in the Inland Northwest. Our specialists provide care for infants going through withdrawal.

The future of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital’s NICU is bright because of your commitment to healing and healthy futures for babies born prematurely.
